 | reply to Krisnatharok Guild Wars 2 will be better than SWTOR because: you only have to buy the box and not a stupid subscription. We all know that means a game is totally, wicked cool and ArenaNet is so hip they don’t need no mo’fuckin subscription fee. All those games like SWTOR are square and are controlled by the Man. Cool content and pure fun is not kept in a subscription fee |

No, it won't, GW2 will be better than SWTOR if the execution is done better. SWTOR had a decent launch experience, but people will leave if the mechanics stay on the level of pre-WOTLK features.
GW2 will be better if GW2 can innovate on top of what are very tired and vanilla MMO mechanics by now. One-time buy is certainly a plus in this area, but it won't make people chose a crappy, unoriginal game over an innovative one that requires a monthly fee.

Shatter join:2006-07-24 Waterford, MI | reply to primeomega I didnt plan to play GW2 but Im pretty pissed at how shitty a job Bioware did with TOR(at least from a PvP standpoint) that GW2 is my next game rather then TOR being long term. TOR has too many issues PvP wise and world PvP is a sad joke. Hoping GW2 comes out of the gate strong. Could care less about a sub vs non-sub game, I just want an MMO with good PvP and TOR isnt it. |

 | reply to Krisnatharok what is it? What type of game is it? Any comparisons for it? |
|
 | reply to Antonica Sorry I thought you were trollin' us. Link below about more details about the game. It compares to ummm...I am not sure. It's suppose to be a next-gen MMORPG. Actions will have to be some what targeted. It is to somehow break away from the Trinity of MMO's of tank, heals, dps.

| reply to Antonica What. Is. Guild Wars? r u srs?
Guild Wars is a MMORPG that launched about 5 months after WoW launched. It's known for its one-time fee (no subscription fee) and sold about 6 million copies. It's similar to table-top RPGs in that you have to prepare your spells by equipping them (afaik you could only choose 8 at any one time for the next battle).
It had both PVP and PVE.

KoilPremium join:2002-09-10 Irmo, SC | At the time, it also developed a good bit of street cred for it's pvp scene, as there was a lot more development put towards that aspect of the than most had at the time. It was an actual facet of the game, encouraged and influenced what you see in WoW and other games, as far as arena's go; though in GW PVP you would start at max level and not have to level a pvp character, which was a big boon for them. -- I am only one, but I am one.
