anon posted : I can help you, but will need your home address to give you options. We have both IPTV over copper and fiber (similar to AT&T Uverse) as well as RF over fiber (similar to Verizon Fios) depending on the part of town you live in. IPTV uses Ethernet cabling or MoCA adapters on the coax in the house. RF uses straight coax. We have whole home DVR on RF fiber with Motorola boxes. The IPTV version is due out in April. You can send your info. to darrick.zucco@cinbell.com. Thanks.

Cincinnati Bell Fioptics Hardware Installation

Crispy101 posted : I am going to sign up with Cincinnati Bell Fioptics here in a few weeks, but wanted to retrofit my home’s cabling to support HDTV, Broadband, and Home Phone service. I was going to run both coax RG-6 Quad Shield and Cat5e cabling within my home to support anything I get, but I found a video on Youtube for AT&T’s Uverse installation

that has his set-top boxes using network cabling versus coaxial. I wanted to know if the Cincinnati Bell Fioptics service can do the same thing. I don’t want to run coaxial cable through my house if I don’t have to.

I also found out that whole house DVR service is only available on Motorola Set top boxes. I was also told that the set-top box that will be installed depends upon my service area (which I don't understand either). the CB customer service rep I spoke with when I first inquired on a few things couldn't tell me if I was getting a Cisco or Motorola box. He simply stated that it depends upon my service area and the installer will give me one or the other. I guess it would be nice to know if I will be getting a service that they are advertising or not.

If anyone has any technical information on the CB FIOptics installation, I would greatly appreciate it.
