| May be moving to Time Warner Hi all,
I will be moving from Lakewood to Ohio city. Currently I have 24/3 connection with Uverse. Unfortunately, that can't follow me to Ohio City in Cleveland. The best AT&T can do in that area is give me 6/768. The upside is Time Warner can provide me with 30/5 for about the price I am paying now. Honestly, I can't argue with that! Now, my only concern is with port blocking and caps. From what I understand, internet caps is not an issue (they currently have none). However, I can't find anything on port blocking... Does Time Warner internet actually block any ports on the HSI connection?
Thanks! |

 | And where exactly does one begin to suspect this type of activity ? There's literally 1000's of nation-wide threads/post, but nothing consistant enough to even suggest this type of stuff going on.
You'll be fine Zone, there's nothing comparable to the service we get in NEO. TW's service is pretty much rock solid, and I can't imagine it's not gonna be a "huge" leap foward for ya (from att) |

| Well thanks for the heads up guys!
Yeah, honestly I am sad to be loosing my AT&T Uverse. However, at least the transition from AT&T to Time Warner won't be from good to Bad. Now if my choice was going to be Cox. That would be another story! |

Ordered them 2 weeks ago, got an install date of 8 days down the road, and they have since canceled 3 times, including today for the 10th. I am not sure what the heck that is all about, but that is pathetic. He finally called Directv..What a complete Joke the way they run their business |

YMMV. |

 | reply to hobgoblin Hob I was just wondering how you came to the conclusion of "No" for port blocking? As it turns out it does appear I do have ports blocked. |

| reply to hobgoblin Actually I apologize Hobgoblin! You were correct. I had to put my modem in bridge mode then open the ports. Trust me it's not that I am wanting to run a web host. However, I do have small business server and need access to my personal files.
I have an actual web host for my websites.
To be honest, I actually Love Time Warner so far. They remind me of the old days on AT&T when there was no caps and ports free and open!
Man, I just hope they get my upload issue resolved! |

Thank you, its sometimes hard to give general answers on here as some areas differ.
