Ubi -- Should we be impressed?

I'm just asking... Should we be impressed?

Ubi hired a "big shot Motorola guy" from Moto.
Ubi talked a lot of shit ... which their "Moto Guy" appears to have failed to deliver.

Ubi has *COMPLETELY* failed to deliver a 900 MHz solution which can be sectorized, and I am supposed to by into whatever *BULL SHIT* the Ubi CEO wants me to buy...

I'm sorry. I don't think so. I think that Ubi has obviously bitten off more than it can chew. I think that Ubi needs to get it's head out of it's ass.

Seriously? You bought/bribed some jack ass from Motorola to do your GPS sync shit? I mean, really?

He can't do it? Know why? He is not an freakin' engineer. He is a manager... but you bought him anyway? I don't think I am buying your stock.

So, here is the deal laddies... GPS sync needs to be accurate to approximately 50 meters... Your shit is not... Now lets try that again and LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU GET IT?

I will tell you why, for a price...

Thanks lads. I guess we are done now.

Once we IPv6 enable every device on the Internet we will have toasters, baby monitors, and security cameras joining the bot nets which today are populated only by idiots that can not refrain from clicking, "Yes I would like to see those titties..."

Wow.

Niot that I don't totally get it, though. I wish they'd hurry the hell up already.

Re: Ubi -- Should we be impressed?

I have a feeling that Ubiquiti is stuck in a hard spot between delivering carrier class features (e.g TDMA, GPS sync, advanced QoS, etc.) and using an off the shelf RF chipset from Atheros. Look at Motorola... they probably spent a ton of money developing custom ASIC/RF chipset goodness paired with around a half decade of firmware work. But I do feel for you... they promised GPS over a year ago and it's still not finished. UBNT is what I'd call a 'diamond in the rough'.

Re: Ubi -- Should we be impressed?

Don't slam it unless you've tried it. Its always annoyed me how members here will talk down gear they've never used. Every time we're critical of UBNT gear it is from personal experience not personal assumptions.

Canopy, albeit expensive, is still the most frequency conservative for the speed and can offer the most subs per tower.
