[Oakville] DOCSIS3 Internet Service Down

Eighth Line & Dundas area, down since 00:10. Anyone else experiencing issues?

The Link light on my DPC3000 is solid green and DS is blinking green.

Modem status is "Not_Synchronized". Log shows "RF disconnected, QAM lost", "Timing Synchronization failure - loss of sync", and "Narrowband Fallback being forced".

Edit: And of course, after I spend 10 minutes typing that out on my cell... Service is back.

Hey I am just wondering how did you get to see the logs? On mine it shows nothing about logs.

Yeah, it's strange, I can only access the logs when there's no sync.

There were a few additional tabs at the top of the page, but as soon as sync is achieved, all the tabs disappeared with the exception of "DOCSIS WAN".

he likely bought his own modem from someplace other than Cogeco.

Cogeco gave me an Arris modem that I cannot see diagnostic information like the RCA ones. Not like you need to anyways. The connection either works or doesn't.

What good is the log to the customer anyway?

Nope, Cogeco-issued Cisco DPC3000.

It helps diagnose the problem when your connection goes down. If you're on the phone with Cogeco and you tell them your connection is down, they're going to make you check a whole whack-load of things before they even consider the fact that the problem might be on their end. If you can see the logs, you can quickly tell them "Nope, it's your problem, and here's why..."

I haven't noticed any issues since I first posted this thread.

For me it was just a straight 20 minute outage then everything was 100% when it came back.
