DSL still not widely available in Indiana?

Wait? I thought AT&T had/was investing all this money into rural internet?

See section: Promoting Accessibility of Broadband Service
[Within six months of the Merger Closing Date, and continuing for at least 30 months from the inception of the offer, AT&T/BellSouth will offer to retail consumers in the Wireline Buildout Area, who have not previously subscribed to AT&T's or BellSouth's ADSL service, a broadband Internet access service at a speed of up to 768 Kbps]

This was 2006! Almost five years later, you are telling me in Indiana you cannot get high speed internet? Frankly Sir I am shocked that SBC/AT&T would lie to the US consumers and regulatory oversight committee: D

made mention to the same great enhancements that were to come if the FCC and US Department of Justice would approve their merger with AT&T and Tmobile.

Hmm... Thank god that the antitrust division of the DOJ wasn't able to convinced by AT&T’s blow hard lobbyists and special interests groups who were previously rewarded with large financial contributions, which just so happened to be in support of the AT&T.T merger. And instead the DOJ’s antitrust department stood their ground!
