Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - Coming soon

The minds of New York Times bestselling author R.A. Salvatore, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion lead designer Ken Rolston have combined to create Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, a new role-playing game set in a world worth saving. Build the character you've always wanted and continuously evolve it to your style of play with the revolutionary Destiny system. Choose your path and battle through a master-crafted universe featuring some of the most intense, responsive, and customizable RPG combat ever.

There is a demo available on Steam.

Release date will be February 7th.

I played the demo yesterday and wasnt impressed. Was pretty bored with it before I even got halfway through. There also as usual seems to be some PC related bugs (although I heard the demo wasnt actually finalized code) and the graphics were not that impressive either.

I believe the game will be entertaining and enjoyable but I don't think saying "the next Dragon Age" is anything even remotely in the same ballpark.

I have seen some review sites comparing it with DA, I changed the title since it didn't fit.

Still looking for ward to try the demo, even when is not the last version of the game.

Well there's your problem. Haha.

In all seriousness though I think it will be a good game. I picture it to be a more involved Fable with a better story but even with some of the names signed on, based on what I've seen, I don't think it'll come close to touching on the depth that Dragon Age had.

I agree that it looks more of a "Fablish" type there is some kind of "destiny" metric that will be based on your choices during the game.

Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - Coming soon

I have played through the demo twice on the xbox, once as a sword and board and once as a mage. It is fun, kind of like a more hardcore Fable, but the fantasy world is rather generic. The world, as well as the combat system, is supposed to be pretty big so I'd hate to judge the whole game based on the demo. So far though it's not a day one purchase for me. I'll wait until it's been out a while and some reviews are out to see if it gets better later on.

Re: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - The new Dragon Age?

Sure thing, I just played one 1v1 with a BBR folk and then a couple of 3v3s and 4v4s to get the rythm of the spammage back.

Dragon age was trash and bugridden
This might be better.

Jobbie, quit trying to be a game reviewer and get your ass back on LoL. Where's dat epic Amumu? I'd play you in SC2 but wow, I wasted my money on a game with far more complicated assessment than my mind can handle.

Oh, so did you play Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning yet? WHAT'S YOUR REVIEW?!
