Tehuno join:2005-01-18 Bartlesville, OK kudos:1 | reply to Jobbie I liked the demo, solid graphics, loved the fate system. Felt a lot like dragon age in the conversations and character builds.
Dont know if its just me, but the combat felt like a dungeon crawler a little bit. Spam left click like mad, with a little right click mixed in.
Im not sure if ive ever complained about this before in any game, but there were too many damned crafting nodes. I picked probably 3-4 times as many nodes, as i did engage in battles.
Stole something in some guys basement, fought a few guards, when i got upstairs, the whole town was now enemies. I hope thats not permananent lol. |

| I had a problem with the angry mobs too. I accidentally hit one of the prison guards and went to jail rather than pay the fine. I decided to break out and picked the lock. Both guards saw me and attacked. I made it out and every time I went into town everyone attacked. No option to go back to jail, no dialogue option at all that I could see. I could not figure out a way to de-aggro them. I ended up killing them all. Got some sweet gear but that would suck if it were to happen in the middle of a real game and you wanted to get quests from the guys you just slaughtered. |

Well, considering how the early reviewers were calling it a combination of WoW with Skyrim and Devil May Cry or Dragon Age 2 action... -- If we lose this freedom of ours, history will record with the greatest astonishment, those who had the most to lose, did the least to prevent its happening. |

| reply to Jobbie Most reviews say the fighting is top notch but the world and story is meh. I will probably pass; if I'm not interested in the story I'll lose interest and won't put in the tens of hours to complete the game. Story is not always paramount for me, but for RPGs (my favorite genre) it's a must. Do you guys playing like the story/world? I wasn't sold in the demo. |

RyanPremium join:2001-03-03 Quincy, MA | reply to Jobbie I take back what I said. I am actually really enjoying this game. Keep in mind its more action then anything and definitely is made to be played with a controller. Its still a very entertaining game. |

RyanPremium join:2001-03-03 Quincy, MA | reply to Jobbie Can I just say this game is severely underrated here at DSLR. Like others have mentioned it feels similar to a dungeon crawler, but its ACTION PACKED. Its an absolute blast going through the dungeons and collecting loot. The loot is great too as you constantly pick up new and cool things. I can honestly say I am having more fun with this game then I have with skyrim. As others have mentioned the story seems kind of blah but some of the quests have a pretty good story. What keeps you coming back is not only the loot, but the whole environment is gorgeous. Every dungeon looks different and almost mystical. The creatures throughout the game are also pretty cool looking.
As I said previously you should deffintely pick up an xbox controller for this game. It just feels more natural then a keyboard/mouse as its a 3rd person game. It handles well with a game controller.
Also some may consider this game a port, but it runs GREAT on the pc with a constant 60fps with vsync on. It also looks beautiful compared to consoles with everything turned up. Also loading times are almost instant. Another plus is I didn't see any of the issues that I had seen with the demo.
Also might want to take note that if you buy from steam from what I heard the money goes to the developer and is published by them vs if you buy elsewhere which some money will go to EA. |

I've made up my mind to buy this game. I can't make up my mind if I want it on console or PC though. Sometimes kicking back in the lazy boy and playing on a bigger screen is more appealing than better control and graphics in a computer chair. |

| reply to Reno said by Reno:said by Dread:You know nothing jon snow That has to be the most memorable line in the books. That got old real quick for me. Practically every time Ygritte spoke those were the first words out of her mouth. Over and over and over. I mean a catchphrase is fine but come on. Hope that line isn't as prevalent in the HBO series.
You guys say KoA:R is good so I'll give it a shot once it comes up on a Steam sale.
Oh, and PC + 15 foot HDMI to the tv FTW! |
