04 Mercury Grand Marquis AC/Heater problem

We have a 04 Grand Marquis with 130k miles, and all of the sudden today, there is no air conditioning, heat, or defroster. None of them work. I can adjust the tempature, and the backlight still works. Could it be a fuse? Or could I have to replace the whole AC unit? Thanks in advance.

Please define "none of them work"?

Do you mean the blower fan is not blowing any air on any setting?

Yes. I can press the Ac, Max Ac, and set it to any temp, and nothing blows. It was working fine yesterday, and all of the sudden when I turned the car on this morning they didn't work. Still doesn't work.

Ok, the blower (fan) doesn't work. Fuses would be the first thing to check.

Is it a digital display? , if so it might be the control head

I would highly suspect a wiring issue (bad connection, loose, corroded) at the blower motor or a fuse has opened. Check the fuses first, if you have access to a 12V test lamp, you can make some further checks if the fuse is OK.

These cars have a control unit that is known to go out. Check the fuses first as recommended above to make sure it's not the blower motor.

When you press the different options, A/C, vent, defrost, etc. do you hear anything? You should hear a faint clunk inside the dash as the different baffles are moved into place for the various functions. If you're not hearing that, the control unit itself might be the culprit.

I pulled out 3 fuses related to the ac/heater, and put them back in, and now it works like before, it defaults to the defroster. I will need to get a temp. Control unit to fix that problem
