[Troubleshooting] Help With Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspo

I have a subscription to Verizon's mobile broadband and they have supplied me with their Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot SCH-LC11 device. I am not very knowledgeable about hardware but I would describe this device as a modem/router combination.

Anyhow, I use it to access the Internet with an H-P laptop at home and when I am traveling. The problem that I am having is that it keeps on dropping the signal when I am at home. It does not happen very frequently when I am traveling, though.

As I said before, I am not much of an expert with these things and I am posting here in the hope that somebody knows a possible solution.

For instance, would it help if I purchase a signal booster device? If so, which one? (Did some search on the Internet and it appears that boosters/repeaters/range extenders etc. could be dependent on the type of hardware supplied by the ISP (Verizon Wireless).

Before you buy a signal booster I recommend you try to find a place in your home that has the best signal strength, possibly by a window. Also the direction the device is placed can help increase the signal.
