[TWC] Cable box Keeps changing channel?

Every time I get up it keeps default to channel 161. This seems to happen daily. DCX3200 HD box

I want it on the channel I left it on since I use my TV as the alarm.. Weather channel does the job. Oneof the only channels that seem to wake me up.

Did you check the settings to see if the power on channel has been changed?

Isn't this an SDV issue? If you are on a channel that is only available "when requested" you can only be tuned to that channel for so long. Wish I knew just how long that is.

You should post this issue in the TWC Direct to Tech Forum, which is secure. By providing your name, address, account number, box type/model, and a brief description of the problem, at the Direct to Tech Forum they can help with that. Only you and the techs can read posts at the secure Direct to Tech forum. You can use your same user-name to post:

Good luck!

Are you leaving the TV on all night? In the menus, under "Power On Channel" you can change it to "Last channel watched"...scroll down the list to around channel 2 and the option should be there.

If you are leaving the TV on all night, then it sounds like the "TV throttling" in SDV is kicking in which says you have watched the same channel for to long so it times out.

Anyone know what is "too long"?

Usually about 4 hours.

If it's important, back it up... twice. Even 99.999% availability isn't enough sometimes.

The DCX3200 non -M boxes have iGuide which do not have a power on channel or the option for that at all so it is a SDV timeout issue. There is a banner that pops us that says " to continue watching this channel press ok/select" with a blue background or maybe in the color that you have selected for the guide to be.

I know that I have come home to having my TV tuned to FOX Deportes HD when it is was on something else or wake up and turn the TV on and Sportsman Channel HD is on.

Our area does not have SDV. Still have analog available.
Our area has 1GHz system so there is plenty of bandwidth available.

anonymous TWC is using SDV only in systems with expanded basic analogs in LA and are 860MHz/1GHz. Only areas in LA to not have SDV are the 750MHz former comcast areas that do not have expanded basic analogs anymore. This is probrably why you guys haven't seen an HD explosion yet the 750MHz systems are probrably maxed out without going 1GHz or adding SDV and TWC wants all of the TWC systems in LA to have the same channels so until SDV hits those areas I would say no new HD channels unless the 750MHz systems have spare QAMs open still.

Just because the system is 860MHz/1GHz does not mean they are going to use the space above 864MHz.

you have SDV.
