sickbeard: not seeing upcoming episodes for one show

So as far as I know, sickbeard has been working like a charm for a number of months now. Today, however, I noticed that for one show, it stopped "seeing" upcoming episodes even though thetvdb.com has them listed. There may be other shows with the same issue -- anyway to get sickbeard to start picking up new eps for this (and possibly other) shows?

(And in fact, it didn't know to download an ep that aired this past Sunday even though my NZB/rss source had it shortly after it did air)

is anything off at all in the naming convention used for the recent posts? I think sickbeard breaks if titles are off from the standard scene naming scene.

I'm not sure what you mean -- I'm not even talking about filenames at this point but a list of upcoming episodes not showing up like they should. If sickbeard doesn't have them listed, then it doesn't know to fetch and download them...

(This probably makes more sense if you use sickbeard)

Yea sorry. I've seen this come up in other discussions so I'm going only from foggy memory. Basically the articles got posted but sickbeard didn't do anything because the uploaders deviated from the standard. Ill see if I can find it.

That's not at all what I'm talking about. This has nothing to do with anything having been posted or how it was named when it was posted.

This has to do with listing next week's episode in the "coming episodes" tab (that's one place to view it). If an episode isn't listed there, then sickbeard isn't even going to bother to "look" for it, regardless of the filename of the posted articles. It doesn't even get to that point.

This is more like a broken pipe between thetvbdb.com (which lists future episodes) and sickbeard (which should have a list of upcoming episodes). So sickbeard doesn't do anything because it doesn't even think that it has anything to do.

Have you tried deleting the show from Sickbeard and resubscribe it?

Ah, that's the kind of suggestion I was looking for, thanks! Will try that shortly.

I think what you could have aternatively done was click on the show name, and it would give some options, one of them being, perform overall scan, or hard scan, reset scan...something like that. I think that makes it re-inventory what you have and check what it see should be out there, and what you don't have.

I'll check it when i get home, but glad you got it resolved none the less.

I finally gave up on Boxee software and picked up XBMC, and still running SAB, SickBeard and CouchPotato....loving it.

I've been sucking down pretty hard on ole Swintec's tubes lately....wait, that didn't sound right.

I've been downloading quite a bit lately, and actually drained my Block acct...gotta refill it.

I have noticed that I've gotten like 3-4 movies in a row that were messed up and missing a lot of pieces, to the point of repair not being possible despite multiple attempts. Prior to this, I think I had run into the problem once or twice...I hit it like 4 movies in a row.

Hey, thanks for the for follow-up.

I did a "Force Full Update" which didn't help Completely removing/re-adding seemed to be the best fix??

I'm giving Plex (for my PC clients) a long hard look for a multitude of reasons, not the least of which I love the server/client approach (I can now get rid of AirVideo and Orb if I want for remote streaming), the browser-based media manager is pretty slick. And I'm still looking for a hardware platform that can play nice with SageTV recordings so I've also got a Roku 2 XS using a Plex channel + SageTV media manager plug-in for Plex (did you follow all that? )

In other words, I have way too many gadgets related to TV

I think I followed I haven't looked into Plex, I might take a look, as I'm desperately trying to find a whole house solution on the cheap, preferably just using PS3 / Xbox / spare laptop, and one primary desktop streaming server, including being able to provide cable card TV streaming. I think I've pretty much got it all knocked out except the cable card /tv part, but that could throw the whole thing back up in the air, once I actually take the plunge and do it.

I swear...if it weren't for sports, I would cut the damn cord completely.

Yes. Good luck with that, though it's the Copy Flag you have to worry most about. If most of your cable channels/shows are copy once or copy never, you're in for a hard time.

Soccer and hockey around here, otherwise the cord would be cut here too.

Yeah, and I haven't heard very good things about TWC in this regard, either.

It has to have been discussed time and again to provide some sort of online sports broadcasting. I can see the obvious ramifications of this, but let the cable companies be the provider or something...though likely it would cost just as much as cable would if you went this route.

le sigh...
