| Youtube and green junk. 1 |
Is anyone else having strange problems with youtube since their recent tinkering a week back wherein they introduced the small/large player buttons?
My weird problem is when clicking on full screen for the first time on most videos, about 3/4 of the player, the bottom half, turns to radioactive green jello. To fix the problem I need only tap esc and click full screen again.
Anyone else getting this?
(Here's a link to one of many videos I have used to replicate this problem »www.youtube.com/watch?v=pClOaegk···AAAAADAA) -- ---- As long as superstition prevails, we will fall short of eradicating war, poverty, and hunger. -J. Fresco

 | No problems here in central Georgia with YouTube. Slow downloads after sunset due to all the young people doing research for schoolwork. There must be an awesome amount of schoolwork related video at YouTube. |

| reply to ctceo Yes, I have for at least 2 maybe 3 weeks now. I thought it was me because I can usually slide the slider back a few times and get it to work.
Interesting seeing it isn't just me. I'm on firefox latest version. -- Long you live and high you fly, and smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry, and all you touch and all you see, is all your life will ever be. |

OZZYBorn Again AtheistPremium join:2011-06-11 | reply to ctceo The video is working fine for me on Mac OS 10.6 running Chrome 17 beta with Flash version 11.2.202.183 turned on and the internal version of Flash in Chrome disabled.
So, a pretty weird set-up working fine.

Today I got a new screen bug. This one involving a white box that slides out from behind the player window when scrolling down that is the same dimensions as the player box. |

| Besides having the "green junk" show up from time to time, I am now experiencing a new bug (I guess you would call it). The suggested videos on the right of any page wont show up until I scroll the page. Its just a white box where the video shot would be. Text is always there, just not the image. For awhile I thought maybe my flash is bad. But it happens on my laptop and desktop pc. -- Long you live and high you fly, and smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry, and all you touch and all you see, is all your life will ever be. |

 FS Capture |
No issues here using FS on that video.
Using:
C2D 2.53Ghz, Gateway HD 22" LCD @ 1680x1050, 4GB ram, EVGA 560ti FPB 1GB using latest beta driver, Opera 11.61, Win7pro and the latest Flash plugin.
I'd bet it's a video driver issue. Intel onboard or ATI most likely. |

1 edit | reply to ctceo I saw this: »www.google.com/support/forum/p/y···c7&hl=en
quote:
1) Right click on youtube video. 2) I get these tabs: Display, Privacy, Local Storage, Microphone and Camera. 3) Under Display, I UNCHECKED the 'Enable hardware acceleration' tickbox. 4) Refreshed and works fine now.
IDK if that is helpful or not, but might be.
What Flash version do ya have?
You might also try the HTML5 versions if your browser supports it. »www.youtube.com/html5
I find them much faster and smoother than FLV vids.

ctceoPremium join:2001-04-26 South Bend, IN | Already updated and tried a rollback on vid drivers problem is still there, even on a system I have with nvidia card.
I tried the HTML5 trial as well, same thing. I do have to say that the HTML5 pages do load quicker though. |

What about clearing caches like the Flash cache and browser caches? You can clear non-chrome Flash cache from the new Flash control panel I think. Alternatively, you can use Adobe's online control panel. »www.macromedia.com/support/docum···r07.html -- You Can't Kill Rock 'n' Roll! |

| All done. Seems intermittent though consistent with specific resolutions over the same videos. i.e. The videos that are affected seem always potentially affected. Other videos I can tinker with until my chrome locks up and not get the green junk, ever. |
|
1 edit | reply to ctceo Yes it has been happening on both my main desktop and 2 laptops since the change with small/big player you mentioned...
edit: after googling about this just now i found that disabling the hardware acceleration fixes the problem and it fixed it for me. |
