And let me answer Meningitis publicly. 
I won't tell you my role because of the possibility of a cult, or recruiting faction. The proof we have Vampires doesn't exactly confirm that is happening, but it's a damn good indication. I win with the town, but I'm not planning on role claiming, either publicly or privately.

Thoughts.
Protus' role looks like a normal town role, and I believe he was recruited into this Vampires group. Everything up to "you are a vampire" is normal town associated to me. So by this, I am sure there is recruitment going on.
Now, if any of us were recruiting, who would be the best target to recruit? The guy who can talk to everyone. The only down side to my theory is that Protus' role has nothing in it that indicates he can privately communicate with other vampires.

I'm still not convinced that there isn't a cult recruitment thing going on, but Men said something via PM that got me thinking. He said the wording of the roles seems to indicate that the vampire faction was pre-determined without a recruiting element. The bodyguard role is there, I would assume, to protect against attacks by the hunter (I'm also assuming there is a hunter, but it makes sense). As much as I hate to do it out of my own laziness, we should go back and review some posts. See who ekster was targeting with his requests for direct answers, and how he voted the next day. See who Protus talked to and who he voted for. To win this, we're gonna need to do our research.
