| WDTV PLus Can't connect to network share Damnest thing happened last night, I fired up the TV and the WDTV Plus HD and it saw my Win 7 box(where I store all my media for now), started connecting and then said "Cannot access network share".
Nothing has changed in my network at home, the setup is pretty simple. It sees my PC, it will access it for streaming purposes (though WMP won't stream , let alone decode MKV's and X264 content), but won't connect to the share!
It's not a password issue, nor a browser problem ,since it sees the
The entire house is wired for Ethernet so my config is this:
The Win7 PC connects to the router, the router there is a network cable going back into the basement into the main switch, which in turn comes backup to the main floor.
No changes, in my network, no changes in the WDTV (since Monday Night when I last used it).
I've looked around and it's about browsing, but in my case it's not since the PC is seen, but it refused to connect to the share.
Anybody else seen this? -- No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake....... | | | said by elwoodblues:I fired up the TV and the WDTV Plus HD and it saw my Win 7 box(where I store all my media for now), started connecting and then said "Cannot access network share". Don't know if it's related to your issue, but my WDTV Live almost always does this when accessing SMB shares for the first time after powering on. Usually it will succeed if I immediately try again.
My shared location is on a Windows Home Server box, not Win 7. | | elwoodbluesElwood BluesPremium join:2006-08-30 HarperLand Reviews:

That didn't work this time. -- No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake....... | |
