KilroyPremium,MVM join:2002-11-21 Ann Arbor, MI | HP Laptop Branding tool Does anyone have access to this tool? It is a software tool that you boot to when you replace the system board on a laptop. It is required to change some of the system information in the BIOS, ie. Model.
It seems that our imaging process checks the model field on the board to determine what package to pick and drivers to load. You can change somethings by going into the BIOS, ie. Asset tag, but Model is one of the fields that needs the tool.
I used to have it when I worked at a company that was a self maintainer, but haven't been able to locate it in my archives. A Google search shows a lot of people looking for it, but not links that don't require a password to open the ZIP file. -- When will the people realize that with DRM they aren't purchasing anything? |

btw it took one of our vendors weeks to get HP to give it to them even though they're an authorized repair center.
Let me know when you have it, I have a feeling that HP doesn't want it available publicly |

Hence why I'm asking here. The guy at the call center was more than willing to give it to me, but doesn't have access to it. Like I said, I used to have access to it when I worked for a company that was a self maintainer, but that was three years ago. I do remember that it was one of those things that once you got it you made multiple copies because it was a real bite to find. The only for sure way to find it was the URL on one of the flyers they sent with the system boards. -- When will the people realize that with DRM they aren't purchasing anything? |

luckily the laptop is now a spare oh the easyness of not deleting e-mail
just let me know when you've downloaded it form my other post so I can remove the attachment or I'll just remove it in 30min as I just noticed this line in a doc in it
