App to watch Fios TV on android phones?

My friend has cablevision and there is an app on his iphone to watch live tv from his cable box on his phone and even change the channel. Does Fios have an app for this?

Hopefully it will work on all android phones and not just Verizon smart phones.

My guess is that iPhone users will get it first

Really? They actually said something about it? I haven't heard anything since their original announcement a year and a half ago...

Don't even get me started on the Sling Box.. All you CO techs in the VHO6 area leave those friggin sling boxes alone in the VSO. Or at least restore them so we can use them as the tool they are designed for.. To validate content to the VSO. Sooo friggin frustrating. I am begging you... pass it on.. Only 7 available in 6A(RI) and your lucky to get into one and we now have to validate the Cisco AND Moto boxes.. So please do not disable them, check the IRD blaster to make sure it didn't fall off and the what not.. I can't take much more...... and please understand that there is a history of what is being watched on those boxes... think..

I think if iPhone can have an app for Cablevision it shouldn't be too hard to retune it for Verizon. And I'm sure if Apple can do it so can the android folks as well, if there is an android app for Cablevision.

I have a Hava unit. It is very inexpensive. You can find them on Ebay for about $60. The Android App works great on either WiFi or Cell Network. I can change channels and even watch recorded programming on my DVR from anywhere.

There was a discussion about this around 1.5 yrs ago-- that it was "coming" in 6 mo's or so.

Don't hold your breath.

In fact, I remember how pathetic it was that Cablevision actually released this functionality several months ago, without even hinting at it before hand, when VZ had already been hinting at it as one of the new services coming very soon on their "advanced" network, months earlier.

sad.

Just curious is all.

Why would anyone want to watch TV on a phone?

Frank- you beat me to the punch. Why on Gods earth would anyone want to watch tv on their phone in their home when most people have flat screen tv's? I simply don't get it

But being able to watch on an ipad or other tablet would be cool, which is what the original announcement was about or so I thought. Could watch baseball in your backyard.

EDIT: I recall my fios remote app on my ipad having a button at the top left labeled "TV Shows" and when you clicked on it it says "coming soon". That button is gone from my app now.

When I am not home or I am in the bathroom I would like to utilize my phone to watch tv.

Andyboy mentioned the backyard which I agree with and I'd like to add in the laundry room or any room where you work but don't have an STB. It is surprising when you think of all the places you need to be but resist being there because you're watching something.
