Curious about optimum network upgrade message

I got both a voice and email about a coming optimum network upgrade in my area and that I may experience a "temporary interruption". It says between 1:00am and 6:00am but gives not actual date which would have been nice to know. I think the voice mail said, in the "coming days".

Anyone know what this is all about?

btw - already on boost.

Your node is moving to a new CMTS, and the IP address is going to change, so you will possibly need to reboot your router to reconnect.

We received these messages for about 2-3 weeks. Two nights ago, two downstream channel frequencies were added (for a total of 5) and our upstream channel changed to the frequency used by Ultra subscribers (32 MHz). We have Boost Plus. After the changes, I haven't gotten anything less than 59 Mbps down and 7.8 Mbps up. At night, I've seen 62 down and 8.2 up. It's an astonishing difference during peak hours.

It wasn't so nice in my neck of the woods. We got the messages for several weeks, and then the modem died in the middle of it. Spent several days figuring that out, then replaced them modem, which did work. Unfortunately we're not on Boost, so we have a D2 modem (no choice). It keeps channel shifting so we keep losing what we're working on. Also, no speed boost at all. Now it seems I'm going to have to waste even more of my time waiting for a service call because cable keeps dropping out, too. Yeah, that upgrade was really worth it, NOT!

Just because you don't have Boost doesn't mean you aren't able to get a DOCSIS 3 modem. CV will provide you one if you complain enough (shouldn't have to do this, I know). Other option is, if you don't have voice service, pick one up at Best Buy for $100 bucks (or a lot cheaper online).

There's not enough signal on our street to even attempt that.

They made the change in my area last night and I now see the extra bonded channel. I still get a little more than advertised on download and upload slightly under. Other than the extra bonded channel the only difference I see is a lower upstream power level. It was closer to middle of spec in the faq when I checked last week. Upstream is pretty much why I have the BOL line so hopefully that will not be a concern.
