60% is not a "modest" increase. True, cable TV increases rates like crazy, but that's just as unacceptable. Another modest increase and Netflix will be at $30...and then $50.

Up until recently Netflix has charged the same price, or lower, for their entire business run. I started with them from the very beginning, and this is the very first time prices ever increased. Not only that the reasons for that increase were very public. When your licensing costs more than double don't you think you need to start raising your rates?

Besides what are you complaining about? You put out this big 60% number, but in the end all we are talking about is Netflix is finally charging for something (from a business perspective) they shouldn't have given away to begin with. And technically the 60% price hike is a misconception. DVD rentals never went up in price. Streaming only never went up in price. The only change is no more buy one service, get the other free.
