Boxes Stuck at 2:54

I think I saw someone else mention this once, but this morning all my boxes had a time on it of 2:54. The time wasn't changing at all until I turned the boxes on and then off again. That's the first time I ever saw anything like that.

Hey mat. When I had a 6416 DVR, and two 6200s the clocks did as you said until I turned it on and off, and this was after the 1.9 upgrade. I now have a 7232 and 2 7100 p2s, and this doesn't affect the p2s (obviously no clock) but I have occassionally had this happen on the 7232, had it for a month, but no where near as bad as the 6416.

Re: Boxes Stuck at 2:54

Yup. Only started happening for me with 1.9 although I read about others having it with earlier versions. Seen it happen on my DVR and HD boxes. Happens about once a month. The time it freezes at is random.

The clock was stuck at 1:05 this morning. I wonder if scheduled recordings would still occur when this happens. I feel sorry for anyone who has a box in the bedroom and relies on it to see what time it is.

I notice that my clock display isn't always the clock time. Sometimes I see the time; sometimes I see the channel number for the last channel I was watching.

Scheduled recordings WILL still happen! My clock has done this several times.

It's a clock. Very complicated you know. I am sure VZ has it 'in the queue' to fix, LOL.

Maybe that's why they came out with that model with no clock, less complication

When I had Comcast and they introduced the iGuide my DVR would freeze at 4:50am and 5:20pm. Turned out that was the times they did guide updates. And the reason my DVR froze was because I had padded some of my Series Recordings. There was a bug and for all I know there still could be. Took me weeks to figure what the issue was. Thought, at first, it was a power issue but it wasn't.

Wonder if you have some specific setting (with recordings) that many of us don't, otherwise I'd guess it would be more wide spread.

Nas, it happens on all my boxes, not just the DVR and someone else posted it happens on their other boxes other than a DVR also.

Correct, it happens on my DVR and non-DVR boxes.

Anyone willing to file a bug report? It happened last night and the problem appears to be tied to the EAS test. Provided the box is off, it looks like the time at which the EAS test starts is retained after the test finishes.

I woke up this morning and my box was stuck on 2:13. I didn't mind much as I live in the LA area though having it stuck on 7:14 would have been better.
