Re: NOT good news for TWC; despite money results The report shows that they lost 26,000 customer relationships this quarter, but added 91,000 through acquired systems.
Even if they did lose 82,000 customers in a year, that is less than 1% of their customer base of 14.5 million. With relatively new competitors having entered a saturated market (U-verse and FiOS), plus the mass cord cutting movement Karl waxes poetic about, this doesn't seem too bad to me.
No wonder they're so comfortable being medicore. I'm shocked people still use their garbage TV service here in light of so many choices. TWC is still using Comcast's iGuide software from 2004 in our neck of the woods! -- AT&T U-Hearse - RIP Unlimited Internet 1995-2011 Rethink Billable.

 | reply to djrobx TWC is still using Comcast's iGuide software from 2004 in our neck of the woods! These systems were bought from Adelphia I think. TWC is still working on integrating them and upgrading the guide/box to their Mystro. I think content is a bit more important than presentation. |

 | reply to djrobx #1 reason why people still use Time Warner Cable's TV services: They actually know how to add new HD channels. Who gives a shit about the interface? I subscribe to cable television for the channels, not a fancy menu. If you want a good interface get a CableCARD tuner and use the Windows 7 Media Center interface. Congrats, you've got the best TV interface available on any provider.
Time Warner Cable/Bright House is the HD leader. Unlike certain other companies *cough* Verizon and DirecTV they actually know how to continue expanding HD lineups. |

TWC is only deploy ODN Navigator on the DCX3400M and DCX3200M boxes and anything after that comes out on the motorola systems. Boxes with iGuide are staying iGuide and they are trying to tie in the StartOver/Lookback, Caller id On TV, and remote DVR to iGuide a28 boxes in Dallas, LA, KY, OH, ME, North County San Diego, Colorado, Idaho, and washington state. |
