I was thinking about either buying my own modem with an existing router that I have (linksys wrt54g) or lease a regular modem through charter. I currently have the internet express package. if I buy/rent a modem would my router need to be upgraded as well? Thanks in advance! |

I would see if it works first before upgrading the router. I had wrt54GS that wouldn't give me consistant speeds when I had the Plus tier when it was 18 Mbps. When I upgraded to a WNDR3400, which is a wireless N router I got my speeds. |

| I have the Netgear WNDR3700 and have the Motorola SB6121 and it's been perfect for me on the 30/4 mbps plan. Get basically the same speeds on wireless/wired |
