If you only use less than 200MB/2GB the cost of the your MB usage went up. |

Old plans: $15 for 200mb or (rate of $0.075 per mb) $25 for 2000mb or (rate of $0.013 per mb)
New plans: $20 for 300mb or (rate of $0.067 per mb) $30 for 3000mb or (rate of $0.010 per mb) -- "To be sincere, you don't have to know anything, you just say whatever makes you feel good and spin and smug circles in your tiny fucked up little head, happy as long as you're true to yourself. warriorsIt's A Great Time Out join:2001-06-05 San Jose, CA | Think about it, folks! the rate only went down for those who consume between 200mb and 300mb, and between 2G to 3G.
Outside of those 2 ranges, you are paying $5 more! |

You are comparing different usage under the old plan and the new plan since the usage you are using to compute the rate is different. So long as you do not exceed the limit you pay the same amount no matter how much or little you actually use. If I use 150MB under the old $15 plan I am paying $0.10 not your $0.075 per MB. My point, which you ignored is that if I exceed the limit under the old plan but not the new plan, I am paying less for my usage (and per mb) so long as my overage surcharge was more than the $5 bump. The extra 100MB/1GB allowance is $0.05/$0.005 per MB respectively. You are confusing the usage allowance and the per MB rate for the allowance (even if not used) with an actual rate for your usage (which is what you pay [use it or not] divided by your actual usage). |

| reply to warriors Yes, this is true. However my guess is current customers get grandfathered, so if they use less than 2GB but more than 300MB they can keep their $25 per month plan.
What's more interesting is that AT&T is charging for 3GB what they did for unlimited data before they took that away... |

Based on your idea, if you only used 10MB of your 300MB allotment, your rate is then $10 per MB?
Carriers charge you for a bucket. If the user doesn't use the bucket, that's their loss. The rate for the bucket doesn't change if the user only takes a small drink. -- "To be sincere, you don't have to know anything, you just say whatever makes you feel good and spin and smug circles in your tiny fucked up little head, happy as long as you're true to yourself.
