Re: home previously setup for uverse...need setup for dsl

1) Power on DSL modem and plug it in to the desired phone jack. If it's the one where UVerse service was previously used, it might just work, if not:
2) Go to NID and remove the current red and green cables from the orange/grey part at the top. You need to unlock the connector. The cables should slide out without resistance.
3) One by one, connect a pair of red and green cables and lock the connector, until the modem syncs. You will need to cut the cables that come out of the translucent block, and it appears there is one cable that needs to be "stripped" (outer insulation removed.
4) Once the modem syncs visit »192.168.1.254 from the PC connected to the modem and enter the username: attreg@att.net & password: attreg then visit »attreg.att.net/dsltech and setup the account. Once you are given a "network password" you are done, DO NOT install any software or ActiveX control. Visit »192.168.1.254 again and input the member ID (including the @att.net part) and "network password" that was generated (not the email/account password you selected). I suggest you place a label with the username and network password on the bottom of the modem.
