Fairfield, CT | [OOL] Great download speed, horrible/non-existent upload speed I've read a few other posts of people having this problem. My optimum online download speed is north of 20 Mbps as reported by speedtest.net, ping times are in the 12 ms range. No packet loss. My upload speed, however, is well under 1 Mbps. I'm seeing 0.5 Mbps and lower. Sometimes the upload speed test doesn't even work, timing out instead. I just installed a new splitter, but to no avail. Currently using a wireless G modem, with little to no channel interference as reported by Metageek inSSIDer.
Is there anything else I can do, or should this be posted to the OO Direct board? My upload speeds have been horrible for weeks and I can't take it anymore. |

| Re: [OOL] Great download speed, horrible/non-existent upload spe Welcome to my world. It's most likely noise in the upstream channel or "ingress" as it's technically called. I've had this issue on and off for 3 years. Comes and goes. One day my upload speed is non-existent, the next it's perfect at 8 Mbps. Download speed is always great. You will most likely need to get a supervisor involved if they can't track down where the issue resides. It's very difficult to catch. Seems like since they switched my upstream frequency to 32 Mhz from 22 Mhz, I haven't had any issues. I have Boost Plus. Good luck! |

| Agreed, likely some sort of ingress. To be sure, test without the router before contacting CV, but upload issues tend to be outside field issues. |
