Keeping with the current (constant) sci-fi theme, I'm going to run a Dune game after ekster's Blade Runner one. You don't need to know the story for the game. Just like my other themed ones, it'll just be a crazy game with flavor strapped onto it. Flavor will not give knowledge to in game mechanics. Strap on your stillsuits and crysknives, and get ready to dehydrate.
If you are curious, you can read about it on everybody's favorite encyclopedia since Britannica (I remember when you had to pull out a book associated with the first letter of the alphabet your subject started with, and page through to find out about something! And they cost a small fortune, and were sold door to door!).

It really is an amazing story. Dude created whole cultures in one book, and brought them together. And fucking sandworms. Where it all began, Beetlejuise.

The miniseries Dune and Children of Dune are also worth to watch. I find that they were very well done. (But books are still better) |

| I only ever read the first book, and watched the Dune movie. I never got into the rest of them. I feel like it will lessen the impact of the first one for me somehow.

| It's more knowledge than most have, but again, the flavor doesn't affect game mechanics.
I try to keep it so that people who know the subject of the flavor don't have an unfair advantage against those who don't. I make the game first, then assign flavor names to roles, but no one knows what flavor name they are until after death.

| Guild Navigators weren't even really revealed in the first Dune book. They had to put one in the movie, though, cause hey; special effects. And I take that as an in?
