Re: Firefox version on Ubuntu I disabled "Tabs on Top" (stupid)
Then I installed "Status-4-Evah" see »addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox···-4-evar/
I was referred to it from an article on Mozilla about the new changes around the Firefox 4 time but I currently don't have it in front of me.
I also installed a Firefox 3 theme for Firefox 4+
Hope this helped! |

Many thanks! -- Jim Kyle |

 | Glad to help, that balloon-style status bubble dealio took part of my life away as it reminded me of Windows.
I was on quest to get the status bar back. |

Just then Firefox 10 comes out... ... I wonder if 10.04 will continue in the fast cycle. I imagine they would not allow an unsupported browser in a supported LTS and got version 9 out 2 months in advance. But I'm not sure how long 9.01 remains supported.
Glad you guys found status-4-evar. Except for minor quirks, this was my glaring brain-dead change, too. After tweaking that add-on bar for awhile it needed this help.
EDIT: Anyone on top of Mozilla's real goal? I know I've read how Fx 4-5-6 were sort of like the old style 4.0.1, 4.0.2, 4.0.3. This means 9.01 may not be supported the instant 10 comes out(?) Just wonderin' |
