best VOIP solution for call recording

Hello,

I have been using Anveo and Phoner Lite to record calls, and until about a month ago (new year?) things were going well....

However, it appears that PhonerLite does not like Anveo (anveo support reps said that they also had clicks on their phonerlite clients, and recommended another voip client, one said zoiper),

I would get a bunch of clicking on the return channel, and frequent disconnects.

So now I am looking for a new client, requiring one that does call recording.

I am aware that Anveo records calls, however it records both VOIP channels onto a single audio channel.

PhonerLite, and SipDroid both record a single VOIP channel to a single audio channel, this means that the inbound audio is on its own channel, and the out bound audio is on its own channel.... This is important, because if one of the parties talks over the other, you can simply mute one of the channels, and you will be able to hear what the party said.

Soooo... is there a windows VOIP softphone that is:
- prefer open source
- prefer free, but OK with paying if needed
- very important - records audio to two channels. Inbound on one, outbound on the other.
- Windows client, so I can see the file created when I select recording. [I have two screens so I can just watch the other screen with windows explorer]

There's a program called VEmotion that does just what you ask. It does call recording, intercepting the audio streams to/from another soft phone. I've used it with Blink, Eyebeam, Bria, Skype and PhonerLite.

Further, it can inject a recording into an ongoing call, which is great for rolling audio into a podcast on-the-fly.

It's a paid app, but well worth the price.

Thank you for your reply, mgraves!

I was wondering if anyone else had any replies to add?

Hello, I sent the following email to VeMotion support.
Unfortunately, I am having some very serious trouble with the program, and it is unreliable.... :-( I cannot use it in its current state for any mission critical operations.

Any suggestions??

Hello
I have installed and paid for the golden edition of the VeMotion.

I seem to be having a bit of trouble with it..... I wonder if you can help?

1. It is hit or miss as to whether or not the program records the
calls. So I have to watch it carefully to make sure it starts
recording.... I am using VeMotion with Zoiper. I start VeMotion first,
then zoiper. Then if I need to exit I exit Zoiper first then Vemotion.
Usually restarting the programs will allow it to start recording
again.

2. It won't save my call recording settings. I'm stuck at 64 kbps Mp3
whether I like it or not. Even with the trial it was 64kbps Mp3 even
though it said it would be an entirely different kbps.

3. Microphone Mute does not work at all.....

Sincerely,
Tony
