Hi

Pretty dead around here lately. Any interesting plans for the weekend? I need to give my house a good cleaning. Not that that's interesting but I'm bored.

I'm building a tiny door and trying to sucker a friend into doing some custom metal work for my kegerator.

I got a really cool tap handle, but it doesn't fit because it hits the freezer door. So i'm going to basically try to build a box out of metal to extent the faucet out 3/4". Has to be big enough for the drip tray I added also.

Hoping to do metal but I can do it in wood if need be. Just don't want to mess with staining and sealing if I can help it.

Why not just use a spacer of some sort? You could get a piece of chrome closet or shower rod or maybe even a piece of copper pipe.
You could rip a 1X2 to bump out the drip tray.

I think this'll look better....yeah I can rip/cut anything I want wood wise. God knows I have the scrap but i just would rather have a single metal box.

Honestly I think it'll look pretty bad ass when it's done...if it's metal that is.

Work... at least february I get weekends off. At least today I got off work at 930 so essentially I have the whole day open. Probably doing some cleaning and then a SOFE tonight.

Dennis what is in your keggerator? Got some home brewed Chocolate Oatmeal stout and a Hoppy Red on tap but they are about to kick it.

Sadly nothing right now or until Feb 3rd. Looks like I'll be getting another 1/2 barrel of Lagunita's Gnarlywine (10%). The distributors make it really hard to get anything good at a price point I can justify.

They had some Two Brother's Northwind Imperial Stout in a 1/6 but again I'm tied to the price point and Gnarlywine is the best. To be honest I'm shocked they sell it to me.

What we do right now is split a bomber, then a bottle and then I switch to keg.

WTF is a bomber?
Right now I have a 1/6 of Two Brother's bitter end. Tried to get a 6th of GI 312 but they were out of stock. And also tried to ge a barrel of Talk to the left hand milk stout. That's good shit, but no 6ths. DAMN IT! I need a bigger frige so I can get halfs!

I know what a bomber used to be - and it wasn't beer! Back in the beatnik days of the 50s a bomber was, well - you know.

No I don't know. What was it? My parents were hippies. Is that the same as beatniks?

Well, the beats were the late 40s through the early 60s - and they were less lovable. Alan Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, et al.

Today a bomber would be a spliff. As in "hey daddyo, pass that bomber over here!"

Oh no. My parents weren't beats then, they were hippies. My dad was president of Prairie state vans back when van clubs were popular. My dad was a pot smoker. He even made a really cool bong out of a piece of bamboo. It was about 36" tall. I remember going with them to get it. His army buddy fell in the canal. My dad was a Helicopter mechanic in the army.

they went to see Led Zepplin in 72 I think and Alice Cooper the same year.
They were young. She was 16 when my brother was born (67) and 18 for me.

Yeah - they would be about my age - 57. I wasn't a hilly but we all had those tendencies in those days.

However, the term "bomber" in the context I was using it in is from the 40s and 50s. We didn't use that term - old beatniks said it in books.

It just sounded funny when Dennis said "What we do right now is split a bomber, then a bottle...."
