KaienPremium join:2003-06-13 Scarborough, ON | Bell 7MB upload option Does anyone know if gettin g7MB upload option from Bell require VDSL connection?
Long story: I have bell old 12Mb profile with 100GB Cap. I saw now my location offer Fibe 25 option, so I pull the plug. Today the technican came to install. After 4 hours of battle, he determine that I'm too far away (1200 meters) for Fibe 25 (modem lose sync constantly. Usually a few seconds after it sync). He put me back to 16M down 800 up profile, and my old speedstream modem works nearly like what it used to be (well, my ping jump to 15ms, instead of 5-7ms before).
I would like to get better upload speed than what I'm getting now. Since I can't have Fibe 25 on my line, is there any chance Bell can put me on faster upload profile? If its possible, do I need the newer VDSL modem in order to get faster upload? |

During the Fibe25 installation. Our first try, the modem was able to sync, speed test shows full 25M down, but only 3M up. Tech thinks issue with wire to Co, so he switched me to different wire. After that the modem will not stay in sync at all. Even after switching back to the old wire I used to have, issue still remain. He even had the profile lower down to 24M down and 3M up, still the modem will not hold the sync. Thus he determine its not possible for me to get use Fibe 25 at all.
So I was under the impression the issue might be I can't get VDSL connection. But you think if they lower my download speed profile, I would be able to get 7MB upload? |

I'm just not show if I should schedule another appointment to see if I can get better upload... So if issue is VDSL won't sync if distance is 800 meter away, then there is no point of trying. But that's the part I don't know if its true or not... |
