Is the caching drive really worth the price you pay for it? I mean would it be better just to buy a 120 GB ssd and install frequently used apps and games on the ssd and the rest on a HDD for that price? It does look like a viable option but not at the price listed.
reply to jchambers28 That Momentus fills an important niche. Many laptops only have room for a single drive and a major trade-off with SSDs are their lower capacities. This drive claims to bring both worlds together.
If you have room for 2 drives, an SSD with more than 4GB of space (for OS and programs) plus a traditional "spinner" with huge capacity (for data) would give better performance.
However, what combination of individual 120GB SSD plus traditional HD can compete on price? The Momentus is "only" $150. -- My Site
