Verizon.net Upgrade Page Broken for Months?

This issue has been affecting my account for months, on multiple computers, browsers and networks. When I sign into verizon.net and click "Upgrade your service," after I hit continue to allow it access to my account, it just fails and tells me to call the 1800 number.

It says:
Please contact the Verizon Local Business Office
We're sorry, we are unable to continue your order at this time.
Please try again later or contact your local Verizon office for assistance.
1 800 - VERIZON (1 800 - 837 - 4966)

Site's been doing that stuff for years. Friends of mine get the same message when they try to order DSL half the time. It's available to neighbors, but they are on rural remotes which may be oversubscribed or out of capacity, and no one has an idea on what's going on with that message.

Same thing here in Westchester County, NY! It comes and goes.... worked fine for months, but now I get the same message as you.

And when I contacted Verizon, they told me to restart my browser, clean my cache, etc. Idiots!

Yeah Verizon support is pretty bad, though I have gotten one or two that are really good. When I first moved here I hooked my router/STB up and no service was there...called em up and they walked me through hooking two splitters together outside the garage. Somebody cut the cables and removed the other end leaving the cut ends in the one splitter.

I honestly personally believe Verizon is so horrible with billing and account changes because their "errors" probably give them a couple million in profits per year from people who are too lazy to go over each bill. What is everyone's alternative? Inferior networks in wireless AND land based services. They know this, we know it, it is the status quo for them and us.

A company does not take THIS LONG to fix accounting/billing issues without something positive for them holding them back. I'm kind of surprised some kind of federal or corruption investigation has not taken place yet.

With the last part of that statement, I am not surprised.
