A typical home modem/router has no filtering capability.
If u want front-end filtering capability, don't even want them to pass the front door or even "probe" you if there is a door/type of door, you need a router with Firewall capability.
U can buy an Internet Appliance (hardware firewall) for a few $hundreds, or u can build a software firewall with an old PC with two NICs and public domain software and hope u have a few weekends open. |
