how in the heck are people cutting over your lawn with their cars? do they not care they driving OVER the friggin curbs? also does this happen often in the usa? cus in canada, people do not drive on other peoples lawns, their cars will get damaged by the curbs and stuff.

There are PLENTY of people who fit that definition in the city I live in right now.

Yet, vehicles driving over people's front lawns is not something I've ever heard of before.

I've seen impatient drivers drive over the sidewalks to make a right turn, but never seen anyone drive through someone's front yard.

when i was a kid we did an 8ft section of railroad track 5ft buried no concrete with a plate welded to the top for the mailbox to mount to. that was after loosing 5 mailboxes in 2 months. took 12-13 yrs before the next mailbox was destroyed the one that did it was a 1973 F700. pushed the track back into place hammered the plate flat added new mailbox. all in $25 for the new mailbox. as for the vehicles..... personal guesstimate of about $25k in damage to the various vehicles we found the next morning.

A lot of folks do that - but when push comes to shove you will be liable for the damage to the vehicles if the post is in the right-of-way of the road.
