dean027 join:2011-06-06 Sacramento, CA | [Bill] HSI price increase from $59.95 to $62.95 with no notice Was wondering if anyone has had this same issue. I am in Sacramento,CA and subscribe to HSI only for $59.95. All of a sudden on my Jan 2012 bill, it increased to $62.95 and I reviewed all of my statements (current and past) and none of them indicate any price increase. I did live chat with comcast agent who is creating a resolution ticket to see if they can reproduce a copy of the supposed notice. But I think this was very sleazy of them indeed. Has anyone else run into this?? I am thinking of filing complaint with my local franchise authority to see if any rules or regulations were violated here. |

I'm not too jazzed about it, especially when $69 bucks is already too much. That is one thing I miss about Adelphia here, they at least charged you the same for HSI regardless of whether you had Cable TV or not.
Edit-We have the Blast! Tier. I am sure the County of Mendocino (our franchising board) would like to hear about this, I may shoot off an email to them, let me know if you send one off to the city or county of Sacramento. They know they have us in a spot as we can't get DSL out in Redwood Valley (halfway between Ukiah and Willits), so Comcast is currently our only broadband option. |

Increasing your bill without notice is NOT normal, nor good business. Perhaps Comcast thought they'd slip it in, and nobody would notice. |

 | reply to dean027 Hate to say this but all companies raise the price every year my att cell bill is so bad i drop to pre paid. Fact of life is they all do it include my electric bill and rent. If you can't afford it then stop using it. |

dean027 join:2011-06-06 Sacramento, CA | reply to andyross Yes I did check my bill, I read all pages of each bill and I even chatted with the Comcast rep last night who agreed she couldn't see any notice on any of my statements either. It's surprising because Comcast in my area hasn't raised rates on their HSI in my area at least since 2003. I worked there as a csr from 03-06 and the price has remained the same, except the modem rental fee has increased to $7 of course because I have a D3 modem, which I understand. |

| so did the CSR give you a 1 month credit for the $3? That's really all you should get, i.e. 1 months notice. with millions of bills going out to thousands of rate areas every day. it wouldn't be too suprising that occasional glitches occur in 1 time notices like this. $3 over 8-10 years is a pretty small increase. |

| reply to dean027 Yes my bill went up also without any notice. I was paying 112.00 a month for the cheapest (digital) TV hook up and the 2nd up from bottom internet. My January bill total is now 133.00.
Even more alarming is I have also got a notice in the mail that come March 1st. for my area, it will go up again for certain services. -- Long you live and high you fly, and smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry, and all you touch and all you see, is all your life will ever be. |

| reply to dean027 Check your monthly bills every month. Usually when rates change, they send a new rate sheet that contains the rates for all of their services and not just the rates that are going up. -- All of my CPE (including my EMTA) is customer owned. The only Comcast owned equipment in my house is the CableCards in the two TiVO boxes I own. |

Ours has gone up several dollars over the past few years, we used to be Adephia here in Mendocino County though so only part of those are Comcast. Sadly, Comcast only seems to have good prices where they have a lot of competition, ie.cities and urban areas, rural areas like ours get the high prices. |
