Ordered it. Only 2 changes jumped to the 2600k and dropped to a we'd black 1.5tb. Wasn't worth the extra for 2tb

Is it me or is New Egg slipping a bit?

Used to pay for rush processing and it would ALWAYS ship same day. Did it this time and only the case shipped. Another thing that annoys me is I get stuck paying tax on the whole deal, meanwhile the only thing that shipped from TN is the Case. The rest came from Cali and NJ. So I wont even have it until the 6th. I know why it happens like that but it still annoys me.

Oh well, lets hope this thing is a rocket. I guess its ok its not coming in this weekend we are taking delivery of our 4th embroidery machine today at the shop.

You'll pay tax if Newegg has a distro center in your state, regardless of whether your stuff ships from that center or not.

You said you ordered it at 7pm and your last post was at 3pm, can't really blame them for not shipping if you put the order in between 3pm and 7pm.

I understand why I pay tax..... Doesn't mean I am not annoyed by it.

I hit the go button pretty early that day when I ordered. I haven't been as impressed with Newegg my last few orders. Just asking if others seen some of the same?

If you go to a store you pay tax. IMHO, all internet shopping should be taxed.

I bought an Intel Core i7 920 Bloomfield and Asus P6T Deluxe the day it first went on sale circa 2008 from Newegg and was overcharged for the privilege by about ~$30 (no tax).

My Intel Core i7 860 was purchased from Microcenter the day Lynnfield first went on sale and I probably saved about ~$30 over Neweggs price despite tax. I bought an Intel Core i5 2500K also on or near the release date of Sandy Bridge and paid about ~$179.99 plus tax but it was also part of a combo Asus P8P67 Pro deal (~$159 no rebate but should have been about ~$180 or more at the time).

So no I don’t necessarily consider Newegg to be one of the better places to buy a CPU and motherboard. Microcenter was charging less the MSRP in a lot of cases whereas Newegg was willfully charging more then the MSRP.

Right now I’m tentatively looking for an Intel Core i7 3930K C2 stepping but there seems to be very little to no stock of even the C1 version,…..

Ya I built my last computer at Micro center. Which saved my like $80 on the proc alone, the mobo was same price as new egg. Some of the other components where higher, some lower, over all I paid tax on it, got it same day, and it was within a few bucks of what it would have cost me on New Egg.
