Wow that's pretty bad if they don't bury it tomorrow I will I can't have a cable laying in my yard unless it wants to gets cut in half my by mower

Virginia has Miss Utility to do underground locates. It takes 48 hours, after you contact them. to come out and mark the underground utilities.

Giving the telco 24 hours to bury a line after they temp laid it is a little unreasonable.

The internet generation.... I wanna it now!!!!!!!!!!

Does Miss Utility still have to do underground locates if they are simply replacing an existing cable? I wouldn't think so.

not being rude to you, but if you read the earlier posts i am going to ask them to run a cable with enough pairs for the whole house that way it will not matter if i cut the old cable

The telco (as do most now days) uses a contractor in Virginia to bury lines. The contractor must, by Virginia law, contact Miss Utility to bury anything, regardless if it's new or replacement. The civil penalties can become steep for failure to call. Once Miss Utility gets a call they have 48 hours to mark all underground utilities unless privately owned. The contractor then schedules and buries the line from that.

My guess is expect the line to be buried in 7-10 working days. Note: inclement weather can extend that out. Who wants an 1800 pound cable plow on their "nice" yard and possibly rut it up slightly.

The first line is just voice in another family members name

If dsl is added to this line a filter will be needed at the phone or in the nid
