| I use:
WASD + Mouse and yes, I do keep QE and strafe keys.
There are people that use:
ESDF with Mouse WR as strafe
WS + Mouse and no QEAD
ED + Mouse and no WRSF
W + mouse and nothing else
E + mouse and nothing else -- Lore Nerd. Role Player. Raid Leader. Healing Priest. Slightly Annoying. Also Likes Kittens. |

| reply to Dillinja For me it varies by class. With an AOE class, it's just selecting the area (say with a warlock), for tank, just death grip or charge as a warrior, then pull aggro the taunts for the class you are in.
Ranged dps, or melee non-tank dps cause me the most trouble. I focus on the tank and select the tanks target, it's not ideal as often a tank will be looking at something else, sometimes even a player. I wish ranged and melee non-tank dps was easier in WoW.
Targeting for a non-AOE cast, non-healer, non-tank tend to be a problem for me. I wish targeting within an area was possible for my hunter. I miss volley, multi-shot is nice, but volley let me pick an area without concern about a specific target dying (important for small mobs, or when there is latency).
My hunter almost exclusively handles attacks via target of tanks target, same with mage. My warlock does the same, but also does a bit of AOE. My healers almost exclusively use Vuh-Do. -- "People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use." |

 | reply to Dillinja Generally I use WASD with AD as my strafe keys. I turn with the mouse, and if I need to gtfo fast I just hit both mouse buttons to move forward. Moving backwards is slower than moving forward/strafing |

its funny because I played EQ for many years moving with the arrow keys(and turning with them) and had all my spells bound to my num pad.
of course in EQ it didn't really matter how you turned it was not really a movement important game.. rarely was there bad to run out of because the room itself filled with bad at times. -- [65 Arcanist]Filan(High Elf) Zone: Broadband Reports |

 | reply to Dillinja Can the thumb pad move your toon forward as well?
I've seen a razer version of this, which actually is made by belkin. $60....
I really mine buy it, it looks like what I'm looking for. |

I really mine buy it, it looks like what I'm looking for. Yea the thumb pad thingy goes every direction, so when you are just slightly moving, strafing, or in a confined area you use that. When you have to fly or go a long distance just click the auto-run button on the mouse. |
|
 | What do you use to select target? Mouse? |

I'm a lefty, so my Razer Death Adder (lefty version) is on that side of the keyboard.

| reply to Suniojii This is what I use. I've had my n52 for about 4 or 5 years now. I have white spots on the W and S buttons. I've always had problems gathering static electricity (one of my daughters does too) a couple of winters ago I touched it and a big arch came out. Blew out all the lights except the one that shows it on or off. I should buy another one because it's pretty beat up but it's still working so I'll run 'er till she drops.
