 | [CA] Problem cox san diego Issue: My modem stays on, but I get disconnected from any game/website gets stuck loading. The issue started the day before Christmas and has happened almost every Friday since and occurs between 3-7pm pst. The issue is now occurring more often and throughout this weekend at all times.
I called cox and they sent out a technician which of course found no problem because it comes and goes. He changed a filter outside just in case. He did a tracert which came back with no loss.
I called cox again the lady ran some tests and seemed like she knew what she was doing. She said I was having a lot of uncorrectable errors. She also said on one of the test she sent out 20,000 responses to see if my modem would respond and 7000 of them didnt respond back. But no solution on to fix except I could try a new modem.
Do you think this is a modem issue? I've had the sb6120 since July and it has worked perfectly with extremely fast speeds.
modem: sb6120 router: not in use cox tier: the one below ultimate I have one splitter from the wall installed by a cox tech which I've had no problems with till now. signal:

This error just overwrites itself every few minutes when this happens. No lights go off on the modem.

Any help would be a appreciated. |

bdnhsv join:2012-01-20 Huntsville, AL | your US level looks a little low, and you're having T3 timeouts. Ultimately it sounds like a unity gain issue for Cox's plant, but in the meantime you could pad (attenuate) your modem by 10dB and verify if that helps - that would make your US level about 47dB and would lower your DS levels to about -5 (still an ok level). If you don't have any RF barrel attenuators (and most people don't) you can also achieve this with some RF splitters (just be sure to put terminators on any unused ports so as not to introduce more noise. |

 | I'm fairly sure there is an attenuator on already. I added another splitter and the power goes down a little on the downstream and my upstream goes up by 3. Since doing this a few hours ago I haven't had any problems, but like I said it usually happens around the weekends. Cox tech is due out again this morning so I will consult with him also.
