Need some help -La puente CA,91744-RoadRunner

My internet is fluctuating a lot and i can't get an accurate internet speed test i get very different speed results in speakeasy, speedtest and on myspeed.visualware.com.Speedtest usually gives me a result under 2mb down and 1.80+ up. speakeasy always gives me good speed around 9+down and 1.80+up most of the time but sometimes is under 4mb down and 1.80+ up. I always have a good upload but my download fluctuates a lot. I had 3 techs come over and check it but they all said the lines were fine. Yet they had the modem straight into my pc and the same problem was happening they even brought a laptop to check the speed on it and it was the same slow download. The techs were clueless and just left it the same.

I can talk about some symptoms im getting random slow buffering every now and them but its getting more constant. Also speedtest gets stuck on the download test and never finishes now. i
I would greatly appreciated if i can get some help troubleshooting my problem. I need to run some test, or anything and post results here please let me know.

Windows 7
Cisco Modem+Netgear wndr3700v2 router

This is a quality test i ran straight form the modem

Can you post the signal levels from your modem?

how long have you had this problem?

i'm fairly close to you...and it's been TERRIBLE here the past week. from running countless traceroutes and pings i've narrowed it down to a specific hop. i have a perfect connection to the first *public* hop/cmts/ubr.

from there it goes to one of two hops. if it goes to hop a, everything is fine. if it instead goes to hop b, packet loss city=slow or impossible connection. i have the specific ip addresses on them...

so for me basically the connection dies between the first and second public hop (depending on which one is being used at that time).

i figure if that is indeed the problem, it doesn't matter how many times a tech comes to your house, it's not going to fix anything cuz the problem is after the cmts.

in my case it's the opposite of yours though...download is fine, but i'll have no upload. and it seems a some others have been affected as well...

i see that there's some official maintenance scheduled within the next day in an area close by...hopefully that fixes it?

I've had this problem for about 2 weeks now and i pretty much gave up. If i cant get it fixed or TWC doesn't fix it im just going to downgrade. Wish i understood what you just said, im totally clueless when it comes to troubleshooting connection problems. Guess i should start learning because this is irritating me. Hopefully the up coming maintenance does fix the problem.

If you dont have a combo modem from TWC its usually »192.168.100.1

if you do have a combo modem its either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1

As according to their status page now it is hacienda heights 2/3 and la puente 2/9
Hopefully that fixes it too because there are no other real options for high speed around here...
