Speeds horrible

I called in yesterday to update the info on this ticket and stated that when Inet works speeds are good. Well inet is working and speeds are horrible. Please ensure that slow speeds are still a part of this ticket.

Thanks,

Ticket number removed and sent on to Nick - not a good idea to post private info on a public board.

Got it, thanks Sashwa. I do see one of our techs is working the ticket; I'll update it accordingly.

Wanted to thank Nick for calling me this evening on a promised return call. He was very knowledgeable and provide the excellent customer service. This is how customer service is ran at its best and definitely helps secure future business with DSLX.

Had some more packet loss this afternoon. Seems the issue isn't resolved. A couple of desyncs around noon and 5pm today.

did some futher investigating and my dedicated line to the dmark looks ok. speedtests are pretty sad tonight...I also got some more info on the day the att rep visited too. He never mentioned to my brother in law that he needed to come inside and left a note stating end user had to leave on the door...which is NOT the case at all...sounds like someone didn't care to do their job from ATT.

this is one of many speed tests that are horribly bad and many have revealed this tonight.

Stepping out of the office now, but let me know if those last steps eliminate the static you were hearing. I've got the ticket ready to send out a dispatch otherwise.

changed filters again...still significant static on the line. after picking up the phone to check and after returning to my pc I lost my irc connections and surfing was temporarily dead, but I didn't desync. speedtests are so so this morning...i've tried several different filters with the same results.

I do see the period on Friday where the packet loss peaked to around 25%; unfortunately, I don't know at this time what caused it. We didn't have any recorded outages in your area during that period, nor do I have any line readings for your line specifically on that day (and as you can see, aside from that period of packet loss the line seems to be running fine... so all of my line readings before and after that period, including the ones I just took right now, are showing just fine). Packet loss has a wide number of possible causes, and I simply don't have enough concrete data at this point to narrow it down much. It might have been temporary congestion, a router being finicky, or some other factor I don't have direct access to see from here.

Our best action at this point is probably to wait for this Friday and see if it reoccurs, and if so to see if I can capture some data while it's occurring. If it should come up again before that point, however, then please let me know ASAP. If I'm not in the office if/when it should occur, please feel free to call in to our support and request that the tech run a line reading - even if you get a Tier 1 tech who isn't familiar with your case, as long as he takes the line reading when the problem is occurring, I can review the data collected when I get in.
