Same as with Witcher 1, the game is getting a major overhaul with plenty of polish, tweaks, and new content. Perhaps most notable is expanded adventures in the final chapter - a fair criticism in my opinion where it seemed the game felt a bit rushed at the end. Best of all, the upgrade will be 100% free for existing owners of The Witcher 2! That is free for all, not just GoG.

quote: In case you didnt hear the news from CDP RED, lets go over whats new and awesome about the Enhanced Edition:
New major adventures set in new locations. These consist of an underground system of chambers beneath Loc Muine and a temperate coniferous forest in the Loc Muine mountains, and a secret cave passage. These new adventures will add several hours of story-based gameplay to the game.
New major characters to the Witcher story. One of them is Brigida Papebrock Dame. This noble woman comes from the Temerian family Papebrock and is a 30 year old lady-in-waiting of the Temerian court. The other characters are secret--for now!
All new animations and cut scenes, including a new, three and a half minute pre-rendered cinematic depicting the assassination of King Demavend of Aedirn. BAFTA Award winner and Academy Award nominee Tomasz Baginski brings this key historical event to life, setting the stage for the story told in The Witcher 2.
GOG.com will also be adding the Witcher comic book to our list of goodies on the 17th as a free gift to everyone who owns the Witcher 2; further, there will be a new game map, game guide, manual, and soundtrack available in your free goodies on that day as well.
The Witcher 2 (through existing patches) is already a significant improvement upon the original release and continues to evolve. Recent patches (v2.0 in particular) have added a new tutorial and made several adjustments to the opening, making it less difficult and confusing for first timers. Patches have also refined the inventory system, along with most other common issues. Many things have been changed, added, and improved since the original release.
This is what I love most about The Witcher games and developer CDProjekt Red - they care about quality and try harder than any other developer I've known to give the best possible experience with their games. At the same time avoiding the typical greed and punitive DRM madness of the big guys. If content or features did not make the original release it gets added later, for free, not as paid DLC. Bugs get fixed. Basically, anything that was a issue or received criticism gets another look and is changed/fixed when possible. |

I haven't played the second one yet but it is on my must to have list during the next steam sale. -- "Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." |

I ended up getting fed up and it went on my backburner of games and still havent gotten back to it. Up until that fight I enjoyed the game though. |

On normal or easy levels all you need to do is mash the attack button. No strategy required at all. On insane is a whole nother story.
But its good to see as I was disappointed at chapter 3 in comparrison to the rest of the game. Here I finally get all the cool gear and weapons only to use them in a couple of fights before the end of the game. |

TK421Premium join:2004-12-19 Canada | reply to Ryan Geralt is intended to be outclassed by Letho in chapter 1. At that point in the story Geralt's lost and forgotten most of his former skill but Letho is at his peak. Supposed to be a humbling beatdown... anyway, you just need to survive long enough to inflict enough damage to get his health down to about half. It takes constant movement and some smart tactics to survive - watch a vid or two on youtube for examples.
Later on you can try fighting Letho again. With your (by then) upgraded skills and weapons you should kick his ass properly. |

It will be a great excuse to play through the game a 2nd time. Looking forward to seeing how they flesh things out a bit more, the game was great but the plot was thin at points.
As far as the Chapter 1 fight yeah that was killer. I was so relieved when it ended with him part of the way down. I forget what tactics I used to get it there, probably a lot of dodging around with a quick stab here and there. |
