That SNR on the downstream is as good as I've seen aside from mine (I have nearly the same modem; except mine's a telephone modem also). I get about 40 on the SNR, but I only bond 3 downstream. Any SNR above 36 is good. |

That is a good older router, but I am pretty sure its the limiting factor in you not reaching the exact speeds you pay for. You could always direct connect to the modem and run some speed test, and I am sure you would probably see speeds a little faster, more on par with the speed you are paying for. |

 | reply to Hardcharger is there any router anyone here would suggest that is much faster with no problems? the only reason why I went with this router it seem to be the best bang for the buck. even on new egg score high. also seem to be one that has not given any problems like the new ones today. any suggestions on that? o and I don't think Cox Cable offers any Channel Binding for the Marrero area in La New Orleans in the west bank area thanks again. |

 | OP
edit your first post and remove the MAC Address so it's hidden from those that would be less honest with it. |

Well there is no perfect router, so its really up to you on what one you want to get. Just make sure the Router is a Gigabyte router, and it doesn't have super bad reviews. So its always good to do a little research on routers before you buy. I personally use a Linksys E4200 which has worked good for me but is on the high side on cost. There is plenty of cheaper routers out there that will fit your needs though. |

1 edit | reply to Hardcharger well main thing what it's being used for is cams and putting everything up my self took while but problem I got down is 2 Ciscos DPC 3010 my unit at the main has nothing to do with it computer wise but is way up to par. now on the other end doing homework was slow a bit problem was single core processor is what they are running. so np updating there another problems came in was the DVR would blur out so it was not fact when I was on the phone with him saying can you see me in the back it was bit rate on the DVR diff networks but with what I am running and what they are running charter like somewhere around 65 Download and 5 meg up there's no reason why they should be a problem. so what I am trying to do is and I don't care how much it cost for good routers once I get them updated with a 6 core processor it should be all good. one thing I learned about streaming over the internet it's not worth a shit if you don't have the computer on the other end to handle the load. |
