Denton, TX | Wireless STB specifications & dimensions Can anyone provide dimensions for the new wireless STB (Cisco ISB7005) or provide a link to documentation? I've googled it and only find boring press releases and general data; nothing about dimensions.
I have a brand spankin new TV that I wall mounted in my room. It is a very slim Samsung LED, less than 1" thich, and the wall mount I bought is a super-low profile mount. I think it has maybe 1" - 1 1/2" clearance behind it. I'd like to know the dimensions of the new wireless STB to see if I can just hide it behind the TV or if I'll need to buy a floating shelf or something to put the box on.

Crystal Lake, IL | I can't help you with the answer, but I have a question. How are you going to use the remote if the STB is behind the TV? I guess you could put a reflective surface right above the TV pointing down and let it bounce off of that...

Denton, TX | My bro-in-law has his "taped" to the back of his TV using 3M velcro Command Strips (surprisingly strong, by the way). He just had the edge of the STB sticking out just barely from the very back of the TV and it works fine. I wish these boxes had the ability to add external IR sensors...
The more I brainstorm about all this, the more I think I will have to get a floating shelf. Not the end of the world, but was ultimately hoping to have nothing but the TV on that wall. |
