[Internet] Sagmecom 2864 : router performance for file transfers

I have recently move to tv fibe from Bell, end they replaced my older modem with a black sagemfast.

I plugged an old cisco wireless switch (wrt154) as I used to do with the old modem, but i have poor performance for file transfer over wireless (less than 1 Mo/s for large files).

I a m looking for improving performance. Is the sagemfast good enough for file transfer and wireless or should i purchased a new wireless switch with good performance.

i am also looking in the powerline system, as it looks more reliable with better performance.

I don't want to spend money for nothing, but in the same time I am tired of poor transfer speed between my laptop and my set top box, all in wireless. And I can't do video streaming inside my network.

Re: [Internet] Sagmecom 2864 : router performance for file trans

I'm transferring files of over 10Gb, doing average 50mb/s (speed limit of my green drive it seems) on wire. Didn't try wireless, but I don't expect too much of degradation, it's wireless N and a gigabit router.

Powerline would be the worst solution.
