Anybody in big cities on this board?

Just doing a role call to see who operates in cities with say 500,000 or more people on this forum.

Cities with that population have entrenched DSL and cable.

Not at a PtMP WISP, but I do PTP backhaul in licenced bands in a big city (2.5 million+ metro population) using 11 through 80 GHz gear.

Same here. PTP backhaul is still very beneficial in dense areas. Especially when there's little competition on traditional L2 connectivity.

PTP backhaul is more important than ever as mobile phone carriers are upgrading to LTE / LTE Advanced. They really do want and need 300 Mbps full duplex connections (licenced 256QAM backhauls using Ligowave, NEC, Aviat, etc) to each tower.

In dense metro areas, for shorter distance links, most of the time we can get away with using 1' and 2' size dishes.
