[speed/latency] Streaming 'net radio, MySpace on DSL/HSI not hap
After upgrading to HSI from standard DSL, I noticed my streams for several internet radio stations and MySpace don't function. I moved my Windows 7 netbook to my VZE Westell 6100 router (an old one with only 3 lights c. 2004?) to double check that it was not a Vista issue; still no www.wxgrfm.org "listen live" function nor was I able to stream through the WMP or WINAMP options. Called my pal across town on a COMCAST ISP and he is able to stream all the test sites I sent links to - no problem. Verizon has spent 3.75 hours on screen-sharing sessions trying to troubleshoot and....nada. They are coming out to my site on Thursday to hopefully replace my old Westell and see if that solves it. Of course, they just suggested I listen to AOL radio, no thanks. Any speculation on what is causing this streaming problem - all seemingly coincidental with my so-called upgrade to HSI?
This was a simple modem replacement - provided by Verizon. Not sure why after several hours of tech assist they could not have figured it out sooner. Everything is back up and running better than ever.
