Awesome news! According to Twitter posts, Distributel has confirmed that Ontario will officially be upgraded to 24/1 mbps profiles and that DOCSIS 3.0 modems will be available in some fashion for this newer speed profile.

OHH a free Docsis 3.0 modem... hmmm maybe I should keep my mouth shut in order to maintain my dirt cheap service.
Turns out it's not free...in order to maintain prices at the same level, they added modem rental or purchase into the packages for new customers. Oh well, I'll hold off a bit and see how things develop before I upgrade to a DOCSIS 3 modem. My connection is good here with the Moto SB5101 so I'll wait and see...
