[Other] Whistle Phone on Android device

Whistle Phone states that it doesn't support Android (only IPhone/IPad and Windows clients provided). From other side, using SIP credentials you can easy setup your softphone on any platform (I tried Windows and Linux) or ATA device.

But for some reason, these settings don't work on Android (I tried multiple sip clients) and even on Maemo (Nokia N900) using 3G/4G network (T-Mobile) The clients successfully register, the phone rings, but no audio (in any side). Just silence.

Any idea what can it be?

Have you tried on your local wifi?

Good idea! OP didn't tell us where he is from, but some wireless data providers block VOIP.

I use T-Mobile and I have no problem with other SIP providers (they defined in my Samsung Galxaxy S 4G Phone).

When I use wi-fi, sometimes audio works (only when I receive call, for outgoing calls - no audio).

Have you tried Bria. I've found it sometimes works when others don't.

Other providers may proxy the media or do a different NAT transveral technique. Hence my recommendation to use wifi in order to leave out one additional variable.

I have used Whistlephone on my local network with a gigaset phone without audio issues.

What router/firewall are you using?
