[modem/router] Westell 7500 Port Forwarding for CCTV DVR

Trying to set up a Nightowl DVR Security cam system for internet viewing. I have it plugged into a Westell Verizon 7500 DSL Modem/Router. I've forwarded the 3 ports and can see them open using canyouseeme.org. Verified DVR Networking settings with the DVR company, but not having any luck with Verizon's techs for the modem setup.

DVR says modem needs to be in Bridge Mode. I'm pretty new to this, but not afraid to "tinker" but I need help with this. The online Westell Manual says to put the modem/router in Routed Bridge mode, then disable wireless and private LAN DHCP services. As soon as I go to Routed Bridge, I lose all internet connectivity with the modem. Any ideas?

By the way, I live in MD, have a dynamic IP address (until Verizon changes it to static next week), and also have a Belkin wireless router connected to the modem for my guests to use. The DVR is plugged directly into the Westell, however.

Yes, I've searched the forums, but due to my novice status, I'm struggling to apply the advice from similar posters to my situation.

Thanks.

With a westell modem Routed Bridge is dhcp wan connection
If you want to bridge the westell select bridge instead of routed bridge, before doing this you must know what type of internet connection method is needed pppoe or dhcp

Hi,
If you live in MD you connection type should be pppoe or Open PPPoE.
You can tell from the main modem GUI by looking on the gateway box.
It should say connection type PPPoE and below you have a username. If the user ID is the Verizon default newdsl user id, then you have open PPPoE.
If you need to type the Verizon User Id and password after removing the bridge and/or resetting then you have PPPoE.

Couple of questions:

If the modem has already passed the traffic thru the 3 ports, why would they still need the modem on bridge?

After setting the modem on bridge and disabling the wireless and DHCP, who is handling those services?

Are you also removing the pppoe settings (User id and password)?
